Jackpot Incentives in Cleo Queen of Egypt
Egyptian themes are common in video slots titles, and the five-reel title Cleo Queen of Egypt, from Amaya Gaming, uses some well-worn icons: like the Pyramids, the Eye of Horus and the Jackal God Anubis. However, the Amaya title excels in the jackpot possibilities it offers players. Each of the game’s nine paylines is attached to a specific Crazy Jackpot, all of them of different value and each one increasing progressively. A player must score five Wild symbols on one payline to win the progressive jackpot attached to that payline. The bonus feature is another extra chance to win that Cleo Queen of Egypt offers.
Symbol Pairs with Equal Value
Rendered in a striking font of curves and spikes, Cleo Queen of Egypt uses the Poker symbols 10 to A and three familiar Egyptian icons to trigger low-value prizes: an Ankh, the Eye of Horus, and a statue of Anubis. These symbols come in pairs of equal value, although each icon must be identically matched with itself to trigger prizes, in combinations of three or more starting on Reel 1. Combinations of Js score the same as combinations of 10s, and Ks and Qs, Ankhs and As, plus Anubis and the Eye of Horus, are all paired up in the same manner. Anubis and the Eye are the highest paying of these symbols, each winning 200 coins for five of a kind.
One High-Value Symbol
The only other standard symbol in Cleo Queen of Egypt is the famous sarcophagus of Tutankhamun, which pays 30 coins for three of a kind, 100 for four matches, and 750 for five of a kind.
Cleopatra is Wild
A headshot of Cleopatra, sultry, painted, crowned and beaded, serves as the Cleo Queen of Egypt Wild, substituting for all other symbols to create winning paylines, excluding the Scatter. Combinations of matching Wilds that begin on Reel 1 also pay out prizes: 50 coins for three of a kind, or 200 for four Wilds in succession. Five Wilds filling the payline, of course, trigger the Crazy Jackpot linked to that payline.
Triggering the Bonus Game
The Cleo Queen of Egypt Scatter symbol features the moonlit Pyramids of Giza, and two or more landing in any position wins a multiplier of the total bet on the spin. This multiplier starts at X1 for two Scatters – in other words, the player wins the cost of the spin back – and rises as high as X100 for five Scatters. Three or more Scatters trigger the bonus feature, which plays on a second screen. The player is presented with a range of icons, and must pick them one by one to reveal extra coin wins, or win-multipliers that will be applied to the total bonus feature win. When the player selects an icon that turns out to be a trap, the bonus feature ends, and the total win is added to the player’s score. Between the potential bonus wins and the variety of jackpot options, Cleo Queen of Egypt has several features that can reward long-term play with significant prizes.
